Hyderabad, April 30 -- The Telangana Backward Classes Commission has expressed concern over the omission of Backward Classes (BC) data in the first phase of the ongoing census in the state.
In a letter addressed to State Census Director Bharathi Holikeri, BC Commission Chairman G Niranjan said the exclusion of BC population enumeration, which began on April 26, has caused disappointment among BC communities.
He noted that while the Central Government has decided to collect caste-based data for BCs during the 2027 Census, officials have clarified that such details would be gathered in the second phase of the enumeration process.
