Hyderabad, Sept. 10 -- The Telangana Legislative Assembly on Thursday passed the Telangana Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill unanimously, that Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka said will enable Gram Panchayats to use their own revenues more efficiently for village development.

Initiating the discussion, Minister Seethakka said the Bill seeks to amend Sub-section (3) of Section 70 of the Telangana Panchayat Raj Act, 2018, allowing Gram Panchayats to deposit their own-source revenues directly into their bank accounts instead of routing them through the government treasury.
