Hyderabad, June 17 -- : Telangana Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday said the government is committed to making Telangana a hut-free state and ensuring that every poor family lives with dignity in a safe, self-owned house.

During a teleconference with Housing Department officials, the Minister directed that top priority be given to destitute families living in huts while selecting beneficiaries under the second phase of the Indiramma Housing Scheme. He ordered a statewide special survey to identify hut dwellers and verify around 75,000 applications received during the Praja Palana programme.
