Hyderabad, Feb. 22 -- The Viswa Hindu Parishad on Sunday demanded that the State Director General of Police personally conduct an inquiry into the recent incident in Banswada (Kamareddy District) and urged the Telangana High Court to take up the matter 'suo motu'.

In a press release, VHP National Spokesperson Dr. Ravinuthala Shashidhar called for a detailed probe into what he described as serious developments arising out of the Banswada incident.

He alleged that cases, including attempt to murder charges, were registered against Hindus who had approached the police seeking justice.

He demanded that these cases be withdrawn and sought an inquiry into the functioning of certain madrassas in Banswada.
