Hyderabad, Aug. 18 -- Telangana BJP Legislative Party Floor Leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy on Tuesday accused the Telangana government of misusing Section 22A of the Registration Act to place private properties on the prohibited list and alleged that the exercise could involve a land scam worth thousands of crores.
Addressing a press conference at the state party office, Maheshwar said Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy had admitted that private properties were wrongly included in the Section 22A list and that around 750 complaints had been received.
He questioned who was responsible for the irregularities and demanded that cases be registered against officials found guilty of wrongdoing.
