Hyderabad, Dec. 31 -- Hidden for thousands of years among the rocky outcrops near Palwancha in Telangana's Bhadradri Kothagudem district, a newly discovered rock art site is now offering a rare glimpse into the lives and beliefs of the region's earliest inhabitants. The site was unearthed by Kondaveeti Gopi, a research scholar at the HK Sherwani Centre for Deccan Studies (CDS), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad.
Known for his extensive fieldwork in tribal and forested landscapes, Gopi has spent years documenting megalithic and prehistoric remains across Telangana - often in areas where cultural memory survives more in stone than in text.
