Hyderabad, Sept. 10 -- The Telangana State Council of the Dalit Rights Struggle Committee (DHPS) has strongly condemned the alleged "purification" of an area after Dalits had walked there, describing it as a heinous act reflecting caste discrimination.
Speaking at a press conference at Raj Bahadur Hall in Himayatnagar on Thursday, DHPS State President K Yesu Ratnam and General Secretary Marupaka Anil Kumar, along with Talapelli Lakshman and K. Babu, said the incident was an affront to the self-respect of the entire Dalit community, rather than merely an insult to individuals.
