Hyderabad, April 17 -- Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha on Friday accused the BJP of lacking sincerity towards women's reservation, stating that the Bill failed in the Lok Sabha due to its linkage with the delimitation proposal.
In a video statement released from Hyderabad, she alleged that the BJP deliberately bundled the Women's Reservation Bill with the Delimitation Bill, despite anticipating opposition resistance, leading to its defeat.
Kavitha said women's reservations should be implemented based on updated data, including OBC enumeration in the 2027 Census, rather than relying on outdated figures. She further claimed that linking the two issues united opposition parties and derailed the legislation.
