Hyderabad, Sept. 22 -- The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught a Grama Paripalana Officer (GPO) and another person while allegedly accepting the first instalment of Rs 80,000 out of a Rs 1.30 lakh bribe at Peddapeta village in Bheemini mandal of Mancherial district.
According to an ACB press note, GPO Durga Prasad allegedly demanded Rs 1.30 lakh from a complainant for showing official favour in the validation of land transfer and issuance of Pattadar Passbooks. He allegedly instructed the complainant to pay Rs 80,000 as the first instalment and the remaining Rs 50,000 after completion of the work.
