Hyderabad, April 27 -- At least five migrant workers were killed and several others injured after a crane collapsed at a cement brick manufacturing unit in Shankarpally on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Monday evening, police said.
The incident occurred during strong winds and rain, when the crane fell onto a shed where workers had taken shelter.
The victims are believed to be migrant labourers from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.
The injured were shifted to a government hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
