Siddipet (Telangana), Sept. 30 -- Koheda police have registered an FIR over the alleged killing of community dogs in Baswapur village of Siddipet district, following intervention by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India and Stray Animal Foundation India (SAFI).
According to a complaint filed by Adulapuram Goutam, Cruelty Prevention Manager at SAFI Foundation, the village sarpanch allegedly hired workers to inject community dogs with a lethal substance on the night of September 20, resulting in their deaths, PETA said in a release on Wednesday.
The FIR was registered under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Section 11(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
