Hyderabad, Oct. 8 -- CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CSIR-CCMB) has begun operations at its third annex campus at Bommaipalli village in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, with a focus on sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
The 50-acre campus is being used partly for cultivating Super Rice varieties that are resistant to infections and parasites and tolerant to high soil salinity and low phosphorus levels.
For the first time at the facility, CSIR-CCMB organised a Scientist Meet and Seed Distribution Programme, bringing together more than 150 farmers, agricultural officials, district administration representatives and over 100 CCMB scientists and staff.
