Hyderabad, Sept. 9 -- Telangana Employment and Mines Minister G Vivek Venkataswamy on Wednesday strongly criticised the BRS leadership over its alleged treatment of Dalits, saying the "vindictive and discriminatory mindset" of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and BRS leaders had once again been exposed.
Speaking in the Assembly, Vivek said it was distressing that Dalits were allegedly beaten while protesting and that a "purification" ritual was performed afterwards.
He said KCR had earlier appreciated Dalits for playing traditional drums during the Telangana movement, but the same community was subjected to humiliation when it staged a protest.
