Patna, Aug. 19 -- Bihar Leader of Opposition and national working president of RJD Tejaswi Yadav was on Wednesday detained by police during a party-led march to the Raj Bhavan in Patna over issues including alleged irregularities in competitive examinations, unemployment and police action during student protests.

The march, which began from JP Golambar near the historic Gandhi Maidan, was stopped by police near the Income Tax intersection after security personnel put up barricades to prevent the protesters from proceeding further.

Police also used water cannons as RJD workers attempted to move past the barricades. Several party workers accompanying Yadav were also stopped, while many later boarded buses to offer themselves for arrest.
