Shimla, April 13 -- A 19-year-old girl was killed in a shocking broad daylight attack in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district on Monday, prompting swift police action and concern among residents.
According to police, the victim, a college student, was heading towards her college in the Gopalpur area of Sarkaghat subdivision when she was allegedly attacked by an assailant with a sharp-edged weapon on the roadside.
She sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot, police said.
The incident occurred during the morning hours, catching passersby off guard and creating panic in the locality.
Locals rushed to the scene soon after the attack and informed the police.
