Imphal, Sept. 5 -- "Teachers are not only transmitters of knowledge but also mentors who shape character, compassion, and courage," said Chief Secretary Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel while addressing the State Level Teachers' Day Celebration 2025 held today at the City Convention Centre, Palace Compound.

He stressed that in a society with limited opportunities, the role of teachers becomes even more crucial as their guidance, creativity, and ability to inspire students leave a lasting impact.

Dr. Goel reminded that Teachers' Day is observed in memory of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former President of India, who believed education to be the foundation of nation-building.
