Gangtok, Sept. 5 -- Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang today paid a heartfelt tributeto teachers and underlined their central role in shaping society, the state and the nation.
Speaking at the State-level Teachers' Day celebration at Manan Kendra in Gangtok, the Chief Minister described teachers as "the carriers of dreams of their students" and highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to transform Sikkim into an education hub.
The programme was organized to honor the legacy of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India's first Vice President, second President, philosopher, and statesman, whose birthday on September 5 is observed as Teachers' Day across the country.
