New Delhi, April 2 -- : To push the scaling up of home-built energy storage technologies, the Technology Development Board (TDB) funded a clean energy startup to make batteries from agricultural waste.

The Uttarakhand-based company, Energy Storage Technologies Private Limited, which won the 2022 national start-up award, received funding support for the commercial-scale production of sodium-ion batteries as an alternative to conventional lithium-ion batteries, which pose environmental risks and are costlier to produce.
