New Delhi, Sept. 20 -- Tata Trusts has brought senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi on board for legal representation as its dispute with Tata Sons intensified following the reappointment of N Chandrasekaran as chairman.

Singhvi, who has represented several high-profile corporate and constitutional matters, said he was entering the case with "sadness and regret", citing his association with the late Ratan Tata and his familiarity with key stakeholders on both sides of the dispute.

In a post on X, Singhvi argued that the rights of shareholders cannot be overridden, saying that weakening such rights could have wider implications for corporate governance in India.
