New Delhi, Sept. 17 -- N Chandrasekaran will continue as Executive Chairman of Tata Sons after the company's board on Thursday voted to reappoint him for another five-year term, reversing his earlier decision to step down when his current tenure ends next year.
Chandrasekaran's existing term as Executive Chairman is scheduled to end on February 20, 2027. The development comes just over a month after he informed the Tata Sons board that he would not seek another term.
According to Tata Sons, the board had initially agreed in principle in September 2025 to reappoint Chandrasekaran for another five years. However, when the formal resolution was taken up in February 2026, the board deferred the matter after failing to reach unanimity.
