Lucknow, Sept. 29 -- Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that the target of sowing various crops in approximately 140 lakh hectares in the state has been set for the upcoming Rabi season.
"Under this, wheat will be sown on approximately 10 million hectares, pulses on approximately two million hectares, and oilseeds on over two million hectares," he disclosed.
Shahi stated that concerted efforts are being made in the state to promote crop diversification, improve productivity, and increase farmers' income, and that Uttar Pradesh has achieved significant success in bringing the productivity of major crops to the national average.
