Mumbai, March 6 -- The 'almost' pairing of Rani Mukherji and Akshay Kumar again got shelved after two decades, as she is no longer attached to the third installment of the popular "OMG" universe, titled "Oh My Goddess".
The development effectively curtails what might have marked the duo's first on-screen pairing. They were once expected to appear together in the 1997 project "Mulaqat", which was eventually shelved, leaving their on-screen partnership unrealised.
According to a source, she was in talks to join "Oh My Goddess" as the lead protagonist, with Akshay continuing in the extended cameo role. The actress had heard the brief story outline and was interested, but the talks never progressed beyond that.
