New Delhi, April 14 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday paid tributes to Dr B. R. Ambedkar on his birth anniversary and said that he had devoted his life to the empowerment of Dalits and the marginalized sections of society.

Describing Dr Ambedkar as the foundational pillar of India's democracy, she said the country's vast democratic framework stands firmly on the principles he laid down.

She said the principles of equality and equal rights championed by Babasaheb are the ones that guide the Delhi government's work, which strives to build a more inclusive, empowered, and developed national capital.
