Hyderabad, July 24 -- Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Friday assured full government support for the expansion and modernisation of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), urging the coal major to diversify beyond coal mining into critical and rare earth minerals to remain competitive in the evolving global energy sector.
Chairing a review meeting with senior Singareni and GENCO officials at Kothagudem, Bhatti said the growing adoption of solar, wind, pumped storage, hydrogen and battery energy storage technologies over the next 15-20 years would gradually reduce dependence on coal.
