Hyderabad, June 28 -- Hyderabad and Cyberabad Traffic Police booked a total of 694 motorists for drunken driving during special enforcement drives conducted over the weekend, reiterating a zero-tolerance policy against the offence to improve road safety.

Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted a two-day special drive on June 26 and 27, during which 394 motorists were caught driving under the influence of alcohol.

The offenders included 326 two-wheeler riders, 30 three-wheeler drivers and 38 four-wheeler and other vehicle drivers. Most cases recorded Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels between 51 mg and 100 mg per 100 ml of blood, while four motorists were found with BAC levels exceeding 300 mg/100 ml.
