Switzerland expels over 100 Ukrainians after tightening asylum regulations: SEM
Bern, Apr 3 (Sputnik/UNI) Swiss authorities have expelled over 100 Ukrainian citizens in five months as part of tightened asylum regulations, the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) said."As of November 1 . asylum seekers from seven regions of western Ukraine are no longer eligible for protection status S in Switzerland. In accordance with this new regulation, the State Secretariat for Migration expelled 104 individuals to Ukraine by the end of February," the agency said in a statement on Thursday.The Swiss Federal Assembly agreed in October 2025 to limit the granting of protection status to individuals whose last place of residence was in a region of Ukraine located in a war zone.At the end of March, the SEM said that the number of Ukrai...
