Bengaluru, June 29 -- Leading gig economy platforms, including Swiggy, Zepto and Urban Company, have approached the Karnataka High Court challenging the State's Gig Workers Welfare Act, arguing that it duplicates and conflicts with an existing Central law on social security for gig workers.
The petition has been jointly filed by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), Eternal Ltd, Swiggy, Zepto, Urban Company and Valmo Transportation. The case is yet to come up for hearing.
