Anticipating a potential situation, the police took a major step on Thursday when Swami Sachchidanand Maharaj, the head of the Chitragupta Peeth, has been placed under house arrest at his ashram and served a notice.
According to reports, Swami Sachchidanand Maharaj was preparing to leave for Ayodhya today. However, the police cordoned off the ashram before he could leave and detained him. As a precautionary measure, a large police force has been deployed at his ashram to prevent law and order.
