Lucknow, Aug. 11 -- Apni Janata Party (APP) National President and former state minister Swami Prasad Maurya today raised questions about the tenure of the Governor in Uttar Pradesh and the reappointment of the Vice Chancellor of King George's Medical University (KGMU), demanding an impartial investigation into the compliance of rules and Constitutional provisions in both cases.

Maurya stated via social media that the Governor's tenure is generally of five years.

He questioned the constitutional and administrative basis for a Governor remaining in office for seven years after the five-year term is over.
