Kolhapur, Nov. 5 -- As their intensified rasta roko agitation entered the third day today, the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) has decided to observe a bandh in Kolhapur and Sangli districts to protest against the State government's alleged ignoring of their demands, including Rs 4,500 per tonne sugarcane as first installment for this year's crushing season.
Veteran farmer leader and SSS president Raju Shetty, while talking to reporters at the Kini toll plaza where the rasta roko agitation is being held, said that a bandh will be observed tomorrow in Kolhapur and Sangli districts.
"We want to observe the bandh in a very peaceful manner. The government is ignoring our demands. It is also supporting the millers," he alleged.
