Kolkata, May 13 -- In a politically significant move, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday took oath in the Assembly as the MLA from Bhabanipur, signalling that he would relinquish the Nandigram seat despite having won from both constituencies in the recently concluded Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters after taking oath in the Assembly, Adhikari said that as he cannot remain MLA from two constituencies, he would have to resign from Nandigram but he would honour the promises he had made to the people of Nandigram even after stepping down as their legislator.
