Kolkata, Aug. 1 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday launched the self-enumeration process for Census 2027 from Bidhannagar, marking the beginning of India's 16th national census and the country's first fully digital population count.
Urging citizens to participate in the exercise, Adhikari assured that all information submitted through the digital platform would remain confidential and be protected under law, with no possibility of disclosure or misuse of personal data.
Addressing the launch event, the Chief Minister said the data collected would be used exclusively for statistical analysis, planning and developmental purposes.
