Kolkata, May 21 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited Belur Math - the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission at Belur in Howrah - for the first time after taking the oath as the administrative head and Chief Minister of West Bengal on Thursday.
The Chief Minister reached the monastery amid tight security arrangements and was accorded a ceremonial welcome by senior monks at the entrance of the Math.
Soon after arriving, Adhikari visited the main Sri Ramakrishna temple where he offered prayers, witnessed the morning arati and performed puja with devotion.
He later paid obeisance at the sacred room associated with it before visiting the temples dedicated to it, where he offered floral tributes and prayers.
