Kolkata, Aug. 20 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari will visit flood-affected areas of Sabang in West Midnapore and Arambagh in Hooghly on Thursday to assess the situation caused by heavy rainfall and rising river levels.
Adhikari who is scheduled to visit Jhargram and Bankura on Thursday will inspect the flood situation in Sabang and Arambagh.
The Arambagh subdivision is facing the threat of flooding following heavy rainfall and the release of water from the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC).
The Dwarkeswar river is swelling due to incessant rain, while water levels in the Mundeswari and Rupnarayan rivers, which flow through Khanakul, are also rising following the release of water from the DVC.
