Ashok RainaDharamshala, May 22 -- A prisoner serving a sentence of seven years in connection with a POCSO case in the District Jail Dharamshala died under suspicious circumstances, prompting his family members to demand an impartial probe into the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Vivek.
Following the incident, his family met Kangra Superintendent of Police Ashok Rattan on Thursday and raised several concerns regarding the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to the family, Vivek had allegedly died around 5:30 pm on Wednesday, but they were informed about the incident only around 7 pm.
They questioned the delay in informing them and sought clarification on the sequence of events inside the jail.
