Guwahati, Oct. 25 -- Assam police have killed the suspected Maoist cadre who was behind the bomb blast on railway tracks near Kokrajhar two days back.
"Based on specific information that some militants were hiding in an area, a police force reached the area. As police reached the spot, they opened fire, forcing us to retaliate with firing. Upon searching the place, we found one injured militant, who was taken to hospital. He was subsequently declared dead," said Kokrajhar Superintendent of Police Pushpraj Singh.
