Guwahati, Oct. 23 -- About eight trains underwent detention today under the Alipurduar division of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) when a suspected blast occurred on the railway track near Kokrajhar in the wee hours today, railway officials said.

A spokesperson for the NFR stated that at approximately 1:00 am, a blast occurred on the tracks when the goods train UP AZARA Sugar was passing between Salakati and Kokrajhar. He said that the Train manager reported a heavy jerk, after which the train was stopped.
