Chandigarh, April 28 -- Investigation into the explosion on the Ambala-Amritsar rail freight corridor in Rajpura, Patiala, has led to the identification of a dismembered body found on the tracks, as of Jagroop Singh, alias Jupa, a resident of Panjwar village in the Tarn Taran district.
According to police, Jagroop Singh was killed instantly when the explosive device he was attempting to plant on the tracks late on Monday night detonated prematurely, scattering his remains over a 100-meter radius.
Law enforcement agencies have since launched a comprehensive background check into the suspect's associations and motives.
