New Delhi, July 7 -- Former India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav has dismissed a fake statement circulating on social media, clarifying that he never made the comments beingattributed to him and urging fans not to spread unverified information.

Suryakumar, who captained India to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup title earlier this year, was replaced by Shreyas Iyer as the T20I skipper after the tournament. He was also left out ofIndia's squads for the ongoing tour of the UK and the upcoming Asian Games.

Soon after, a fabricated statement began circulating online, claiming that Suryakumar was unhappy over the lack of clarity about his future with the Indian team and felt he had not received the respect he deserved after everything he had done.
