Mumbai, July 6 -- Nationalist Congress Party (SP) working president and Member of Parliament Supriya Sule has demanded that the Maharashtra government immediately declare an "emergency" in the state in view of the catastrophic situation arising from incessant heavy rainfall and widespread infrastructure failure.
Sule hit out at the state administration, alleging a complete collapse of connectivity between Mumbai and Pune. She pointed to the disruption of traffic on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, the old Mumbai-Pune highway, and the much-publicised "Missing Link" project as clear indicators of the state's "paralysed" condition.
