New Delhi, July 20 -- The Supreme Court on Monday directed the union Government to constitute a committee within two weeks to formulate uniform guidelines on post-retirement facilities for former Chief Justices and judges of High Courts, noting that the availability of essential amenities currently varies significantly across States.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana issued the direction while hearing a writ petition concerning the security and other post-retirement facilities extended to retired High Court judges.
