Mumbai, Feb. 17 -- Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar has been unanimously elected as the National President of the Nationalist Congress Party - Ajit Pawar faction by party MLAs. The formal ratification of her appointment will take place at a meeting of the party's national executive committee scheduled for February 26, sources said on Tuesday.
A meeting of MLAs from the Ajit Pawar-led faction was recently held under the leadership of Sunetra Pawar. During the meeting, the party's National Working President Praful Patel proposed her name for the post of National President. The proposal received unanimous support from all members present, who endorsed it by a show of hands.
