Itanagar, Sept. 21 -- The Arunachal Pradesh Government has reiterated its willingness to engage in dialogue with communities over the proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP), amid continuing concerns in parts of Siang and Upper Siang districts.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday chaired a consultative and interactive meeting with officers and officials from Siang and Upper Siang districts to discuss the proposed project, its significance and various technical aspects.
Khandu said tribal officers and officials maintain close links with their communities and understand their aspirations, concerns and sentiments. Their insights, he said, are therefore important in taking development initiatives forward.
