Hyderabad, May 13 -- The Department of Agriculture, Telangana has urged farmers to adopt summer ploughing as a long-term agricultural management practice to improve soil fertility, reduce cultivation costs and enhance crop productivity.

Highlighting the benefits of deep tilling after harvest, agriculture officials said summer ploughing helps loosen compacted soil, improves aeration and creates favourable conditions for stronger root growth and efficient nutrient absorption.
