Neeraj BaliChandigarh, Aug. 13 -- Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon at a gurdwara in Maharashtra's Nanded on Thursday, in an incident that has raised fresh questions about security arrangements around the prominent Sikh politician.
Police detained the alleged attacker at the scene. According to police, the attacker has been indentified as 62-year-old Jaspal Singh, who was reportedly living at the same gurdwara complex for about two years.
