Kolkata, Sept. 19 -- union Minister and BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar launched a sharp attackon the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamul Congress over the withdrawal of its candidates from the upcoming Nandigram and Rejinagar bypolls, saying the party's "expiry date" had passed.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Rozgar Mela at the National Library in Kolkata on Saturday, Majumdar also claimed that the BJP could have attacked Trinamul offices but chosenot to do so, saying his party did not believe in such a political culture.

"We could have demolished all the Trinamul party offices, the way she (Mamata Banerjee) did," Majumdar said, referring to alleged attacks on BJP offices during Trinamul's tenure in power.
