Bhubaneswar, Jan. 22 -- Describing the Subhadra Scheme as the largest women-centric welfare initiative in post-Independence Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday said the programme is aimed at the holistic development and economic empowerment of women across the state, with an annual outlay of Rs.11,000 crore.

The Chief Minister disbursed Subhadra assistance to over 4.57 lakh beneficiaries, transferring more than Rs.315 crore directly into their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The assistance covered beneficiaries who had not received the first installment, those with pending second and third installments, and newly registered beneficiaries for the 2025-26 financial year.
