Mumbai, June 4 -- Shweta Rupesh Salvi, the prime accused in the multi-crore financial fraud involving Subhadra Metals Pvt. Ltd., surrendered before the Kalachowki Police here on Thursday.

Her surrender comes after all her legal options were exhausted, with the Supreme Court of India dismissing her anticipatory bail plea and directing her to surrender within 15 days.

Salvi had previously approached the Mumbai Sessions Court and the Bombay High Court seeking protection from arrest, both of which rejected her applications given the gravity of the economic offence. Left with no option after the apex court's ultimatum, the accused turned herself in at the police station.
