Munnar (Kerala), Sept. 28 -- Eight catering college students who lost their way and became stranded inside a forest after being attacked by giant bees while searching for the blooming Neelakurinji were rescued by Forest Department personnel in Chinnakanal in Idukki district of Kerala.
The students were part of a 20-member group from a catering college at Suryanelli that entered the Arayekkar area of Chinnakanal, also known as Arupathhekkar, around 1100 hours on Sunday to see the Neelakurinji bloom. The group had split into two teams before entering the forest, sources said.
