Bengaluru, April 23 -- In a rare display of political convergence on Karnataka campuses, student wings of rival parties have set aside ideological battles to speak in one voice, demanding the immediate revival of student union elections in colleges across the state.

At a day-long meeting held at the State Higher Education Council auditorium in Bengaluru, student organisations affiliated to the Congress, BJP, JD(S) and Left parties jointly pressed the government to roll out elections from the current academic year, signalling a unified push to restore campus electoral politics after a prolonged pause.
